4月29日 Too Late, Barry.Looks like Obama is finally denouncing the comments of his pastor: the man who married him, baptised both of his children, and preached to him for 20 years.
Too bad it's coming now. Because, now...I don't believe you. I think it's only cuz it's all over the media that you now disagree with his comments. Convenient.
Also...I'm curious...does he have a farmer tan in this picture?
4月28日 Dude needs to shut up and go awayhttp://apnews.myway.com/article/20080428/D90B4MJG0.html
So, Barrak's Buddy Rev. Wright is back in the news again. And, I would say he's certainly not helping Obama win any elections.
I am one of those people who is concerned about the whole Obama+Wright+flag pin+we really don't know a lot about this guy thing.
Particularly Wright. Look...many people don't think this is a big deal. I do. I mean, Obama went to this guys church for 20 years. I don't buy that he never heard him say some of these things. People can choose their churches. I have no problem with Rev. Wright himself, or his sermons. I think they're anti-American and I would not sit through one of them, at least not without complaining afterwards. But, I don't look down on people for feeling like this is the right environment for them.
Unless, they want to be President. Obama, the Jr. Senator from Illinois can go to whatever church he wants. Obama, the potential President of the United States, need to buy into what this country is not about. The president should not be attending a church that says God Damn America.
And, I'm not the only one who feels this way, I assure you.
But, Obama made some good political moves by essentially firing Wright and giving that lame ass speech about his racist grandmother. He was on the road to recovery. Then, Rev. Wright shows up again. Now, he's talking about the attack on "the black church" (can we say race card, here), and embracing Louis Farrakhan.
I can't see how this is going to help St. Barrak become President. I am curious if there was a phone call made tonight saying, "Pretty please shut the hell up." My other blogSo...I've recently started keeping another blog. I haven't mentioned it, yet, as it was a super secret blog. But, now...the secret is out.
Mind you...this blog, Jason's Page of Love and Hate, will remain the same. My new blog will be the mushy one.
If you're interested, you can find my new blog at http://diaryofdad2be.blogspot.com
Can you guess what it's about???
4月22日 An Engineer's Guide to CatsThanks to Staci. Spaces doesn't play it very well, but you can also go to YouTube and search for it. Tis funny.
4月20日 Why is this guy so popular?So...Barak Obama.
Look...it's clear where my allegiance lies. It's clear that no matter who wins the Democratic Primary, I will be voting for John McCain in November.
But, still...as a follower of politics, I am curious. Why the heck is Barak Obama so bloody popular?
Is it simply because he preaches "Hope" and "Change?" Are we such lemmings that we'll buy into this without seeing any kind of proof that this Jr. Senator who hasn't even served a full term can actually enact any kind of meaningful change.
Even if he does bring change, how do we know it's the change we want? We really have nothing to go on, with this guy.
I'm not a fan of Hillary, but, at least with her, we know where we stand (kinda). She's got a voting record over twice as long as Obama's, and we’ve got about 20+ years of public spotlight that we can gaze upon to pass judgment.
But, with Obama…we gots nothing. Very little voting record. No impressive committee accomplishments. Really, all we’ve got is Rev. Wright, this Weatherman guy, now (which…seriously…why isn’t more of a stink being created about the fact that Obama had meetings at this dude’s place while exploring his presidential options), and an endorsement from Hamas. Oh, and a lot of talk about Hope and Change. Brother…if the hope you’re gonna give me is the kind of hope that makes Hamas happy, I like being hopeless.
Now…this is certainly not an endorsement of Hillary. I know she’s a clown. But, the Democrats at least know her. They know what they’re getting. They (used to) love her. With Obama…we have a charismatic dude that knows how to say the right things. Even though there is no substance to his comments.
So…explain it, Obama-maniacs. What is the appeal? Why are you so in love with this guy? What does he bring? And, I want to hear more than just change. If change is your answer, I want to hear what kind of change he’s bringing. And, “Difference from Bush” isn’t good enough. Any choice will be different from Bush. What does Barak Obama bring to the table that makes him so freakin’ outstanding?
4月14日 32,000 HitsSo...I've been doing this little blog thing for about 3 years now? Last night, Jason's Page of Love and Hate hit 32,000 hits!
Now...I sure that about 30,000 of those are my parents, but still. Kinda cool.
To all of you, thanks for reading about my love for John McCain and my hate of babies in the carpool lane. My love for Harry Potter and my hate for fans who cheer for teams from towns they have no connection to. My love of the Zags, Mariners, and Seahawks, and my Hate of the Yankees and Lakers.
What else do I love? I love you, you, and you...but, not you.
I love Cheeseburgers and I hate Olives.
I love Halo, but I hate that I wasn't credited.
I love my new neighborhood, but I hate the attitudes of some who live there.
I love my parents, but I hate Lake Havasu (well...not hate...but glad I don't live there, anymore.)
I love my job and the company I work for, but I hate how Freaking busy it is right now (leaves me no time for blogging at 11:44 in the morning).
I love anyone who's still reading this and I hate those that left.
And, finally...I love America and I love that I can say whatever I want here (Megan McCain is hot) on a great site like Spaces...but, I hate that it STILL DOESN'T HAVE SPELL CHECK!!!!
4月13日 Jason's Game Review - Army of TwoTwo Short.
Har Har Har!!!
So...I enjoyed playing Army of Two. I think some key ideas for this game were poached from Gears of War. Such as the CoOp mode as a whole and the "taking cover" aspect.
Still...I enjoyed taking those ideas putting them into a "real life" context. While I enjoy shooting aliens in the head, I also enjoy fighting terrorists. This was actually, for me, the coolest part of the game. I actually got to fight Al Qaeda. Most games and movies nowadays, it seems, want to make the terrorists white extremists from Russia or Germany or Virginia. I understand the PC idea behind this...but, just like the WWII movies of the 1940s, I enjoy thinking about fighting the real enemy. So...I had fun shooting terrorists.
A side note...while I enjoyed shooting terrorists, there was one thing that I thought was especially balzy for the designers. The Suicide Bombers. Now...don't get me wrong (or don't get me right, I'm not sure). I laughed the first time I saw these guys. Essentially...they're not carrying weapons, but you can see that they're strapped with a bomb. They come running at you screaming and waving their arms. The key is to shoot them right in the gut, where the bomb is, at which point they blow up. Balzy and funny. But, I'm surprised they haven't gotten more flack for this.
#1 biggest con of this game. It was way too short. Thank goodness for GameFly. Again, a game that I would have bought, paid $70 for, and then been super pissed once it was done. Otherwise, it was an enjoyable game. Even if they ideas were "borrowed." But, what are most games, nowadays, but more of the same.
Second biggest con was the lack of any "bosses." Seriously...I didn't even get to fight the main bad guy. He was killed during a cut scene. What the heck is up with that? No challenge here outside of the number of baddies.
I should come up with a ratings system. 4月8日 100 year war? And David HorseyI don't usually like David Horsey cartoons because he is clearly liberal. That's fine in itself, but I prefer cartoonists who can bash both sides, and I've always felt that he focuses on bashing 1 side. Granted...I've only lived in Seattle for 8 years...and that just happens to be the 8 years when one side in particular deserves bashing...but, whatever.
Anyway...I saw this cartoon from a little while ago. I thought it was very appropriate. Anytime I get on my McCain high horse with my Seattle friends, 98% of whom are liberal and 98% of those whom are Obama supporters, they bring up the 100 year war comment. "But, McCain says he wants to stay in Iraq for 100 years!"
Ummm...that's not really what he said.
For the record...the comment is below, thanks to Tim Russert and YouTube. Smart people get the point.
It's like a campaign stop in the Capital Building.<iframe height="339" width="425" src="http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22425001/vp/24014440#24014440" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe> 4月7日 Boycott the Olympics? No!Look...I don't much admire China's record in human rights, either. But, the Olympics are suppose to be about Humanity coming together to celebrate through games and competition. It's not supposed to be about politics.
First of all...where was everybody 8 years ago when the IOC was leaning toward picking Beijing as the spot for the 2008 Olympics? That's when the complaining should have happened. Now...we've got schmucks in Paris and London (and, I'm sure there will be more in San Francisco, pretty soon) trying to steal the torch and put it out.
These people carrying the torch all over the world are not Chinese. They are from their home countries and they are not carrying the torch to scream "Go China!" They're doing it to celebrate the games and the camaraderie that we, as a world, share.
Now, apparently, Hillary Clinton, in all her wisdom, is calling on President Bush to boycott the Opening Ceremonies. Of all the events that world leaders should be attending, it's the Opening Ceremonies. I mean, this is where we have people from all over the world under one roof cheering for one another. The world has been good to us, even though they have been mad at the way we've handled ourselves lately. Still...they came to the games in Utah. Still, they cheer for the American team at every Olympics.
If you want to protest China, I have no qualms with brining your Free Tibet sign to the Gymnastics final. But, don't boycott. This is for the athletes. It's for the people of the world. It's not for political statements.
Free Tibet!
